011 “The Seduction of Madame X Part III”

I mentioned earlier that many of the early strips had shout outs to my friends. This is another one, to Acid Junkie, who helped me out with the tentacle monster one a few weeks after this.

This is one of my favorites. I remember chuckling like mad drawing this one. Madame X strips are hard to do because it’s difficult to come up with new gross misunderstandings for Touro.

The friends also show their different personalities in this strip. The first friend is heavily sarcastic and cruel, while the second one is directly insulting. This is also the first strip in which the second friend swears, and came to be known as the Swearing Friend from this strip onwards (named by John Murnagahan). To date, neither friend has a real name, and never will.

Acid Junkie, who was a close friend at the time, said that he’d die if a woman that beautiful would wear a t-shirt with his name on it.

And yes, the last panel contains an Evangelion reference. Yaoi refers to girl’s comics which contain homosexuality. But obviously I never read one because sex is more implied than seen in yaoi books. And men in yaoi books are rarely that muscular.
