Commentary from November, 2015
REading over the commentary I wrote thirteen years ago it reminds me that one of the original themes of the comic was trolling the readership. It soon progressed beyond this and started trolling other things but a lot of the early strips were aimed directly at western otaku culture at the turn of the century. It has changed a lot since then but at the time, yeah, this was the image.

(It’s important to read the commentary for #003 before going on to this one.) This strip already shows one of the Sexy Losers Golden Rules of Comedy, which is, “You can do the same joke twice if you just make the second time a ridiculous exaggeration of the first.”
Anyone who thinks that this strip and the last are actually sarcastic jabs at anime fans are probably right. It was my belief at the time that most anime fans would not know what to do with a woman if they had one. Fortunately, there’s enough girl anime fans around to teach them.
Two decades on, and this seems to be the first comment on this comic. Could it be it hit too close to home for too many?
Oh, wait… never mind. Just maybe first comment in a while.
The website moved to WordPress as few years ago. Before that, there was no reader comments on individual strips.

I remembered this comic randomly after almost two decades. Fun fact: it’s officially almost old enough to drink now.
